Mario Balotelli involved in dart incident

Mario Balotelli’s Manchester City career has taken a new twist after it emerged he threw a dart at a youth team player several weeks ago.

The 20-year-old was spoken to by club officials, but has so far escaped sanction over the training ground incident, in which no-one was hurt.City boss Roberto Mancini returns to Manchester on Tuesday, with the striker due back at the club later in the week.Balotelli has had a stop-start time since signing for £24m in the summer.He has missed a large chunk of the season because of injuries and a suspension, playing only 12 Premier League games.Most recently Balotelli apologised to his team-mates for the challenge that saw him sent off in the Europa League tie against Dynamo Kiev.The striker saw red after a recklessly high challenge on Goran Popov, as City won 1-0 but lost 2-1 on aggregate.Balotelli is currently in Italy and is expected to return to Manchester later this week.

Celtic and Rangers set for Easter bank holiday SPL title showdown

THE Old Firm could be set to clash on a Friday or Monday lunchtime in the crucial final derby of the season at Ibrox.Sky Sports are due to screen a live game from the SPL on both Easter Friday and the Monday May bank holiday.Both matches are scheduled for noon kick-offs and Celtic’s visit to their bitter rivals could yet be pencilled in for either slot when the post-split fixtures are announced.The police are against the idea of Old Firm games taking place on bank holiday weekends following the trouble which marred Rangers’ league clincher at Celtic Park in 1999.That game took place on May 2 – one of the proposed dates for this year’s fixture.However, the police might have to make an exception this season as SPL chiefs are also keen to minimise the chance of the title being decided in the Ibrox showdown.The first two rounds of fixtures after the split are both holiday weekends and pushing the derby back any further would risk the championship being on the line when the Old Firm meet.That is sure to leave the SPL and the police with a huge dilemma, with Friday April 22 and Monday May 2 big possibilities as dates for the crunch game.

Per parlare dell’accaduto è intervenuta direttamente la federcalcio scozzese, la Sfa, che ha spiegato di non esservi “alcuna prova”.La federcalcio scozzese si è espressa anche in merito ai cori razzisti e ai buu nei confronti della giovane stella del Santos, smentendo altresì l’accaduto. Neymar, infine, a giudizio della Sfa, avrebbe tenuto un comportanto antisportivo durante il match incappando in una serie di simulazioni.

German teenager admits throwing banana during Scotland vs Brazil match

A German teenager was responsible for the banana-throwing incident during Scotland’s friendly with Brazil at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Arsenal Football Club, who play at the stadium, announced the news after an investigation with the Metropolitan Police.Brazil forward Neymar, who scored both goals in his side’s 2-0 win, complained after the match that he had been the victim of racist abuse – a claim strenuously denied by the Scottish Football Association and the Tartan Army fans’ organisation.

Pictures show the area where the banana was thrown from contained many fans wearing Brazil strips.A statement from Arsenal, released on Tuesday afternoon, said: “After consultation with the Metropolitan Police, Arsenal Football Club can confirm that a German teenage tourist has admitted throwing a banana onto the pitch during the Brazil v Scotland international friendly at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.”The youngster was sitting in the North Bank of Emirates Stadium, an area of the stadium which was occupied by the official allocation of tickets to Brazil supporters, when he threw the banana onto the pitch during the second half of the match.”The Metropolitan Police is satisfied there was no racist intent and have confirmed that no further action will be taken.”Neymar said that he will not lodge an official complaint following the incident. Earlier, he had expressed his unhappiness at an “atmosphere of racism” from the Scotland support.”No, that’s in the past,” Neymar told Sky Sports News. “I go back to Brazil now and have already forgotten about it. If it was [a] Scottish [fan] or if it wasn’t, we cannot prove it. It was one isolated case. Life goes on.”The Scottish Football Association said it would not comment on the news.
