The Scottish Premier League has postponed Saturday’s game between Rangers against St Mirren due to “significant water damage” at Ibrox.

A statement from the SPL read: “The thaw following the recent extreme cold has led to significant water damage in various parts of the stadium.”The extent of the damage is such, there is no prospect of repairs being completed before the weekend.”Rangers last played at home in the SPL on 13 November.A statement from the SPL leaders added: “It is regrettable that the game is off and we feel for the supporters but the situation was unavoidable given the amount of damage to the pipes at the stadium.”

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has appealed for calm in Saturday’s game with Stoke, the teams’ first meeting since Ryan Shawcross broke Aaron Ramsey’s leg.
