Problemi familiari e di relazioni con alcuni dirigenti sembrerebbero all’ origine del desiderio dell’argentino di abbandonare i “Citizens”. La posizione del club appare , però, irremovibile. In Scozia, invece, si discute dell’ eventuale nuova formula da introdurre per rendere maggiormente attraente, agli occhi di televisioni e sponsor, la SPL. Varie sono le ipotesi, la più gettonata delle quali è quella di ridurre a dieci il numero delle società partecipanti  con due gironi di andata e due di ritorno. Vi è anche, però, chi chiede un allargamento a 16 o 18 clubs.

Manchester City’s want-away striker Carlos Tevez has reported for training at Carrington on Tuesday.

City have rejected a transfer request from captain Tevez, who says he has fallen out with executives at the club.Manager Roberto Mancini was not at training because he is already in Italy preparing for Thursday’s final Europa League group match at Juventus.Tevez and Mancini will hold talks over the player’s future in Manchester on Friday, BBC Sport understands.City, third in the Premier League, have been rocked by their talisman’s insistence that he wants to leave because his relationship with “certain executives” have “broken down beyond repair”.

Manchester City will not sell want-away striker Carlos Tevez in January, BBC Sport understands.

The 26-year-old says he wants to leave because his relations with “certain executives” at the Eastlands club have “broken down beyond repair”.But a senior club official described this as “ludicrous and nonsensical”.If Tevez refuses to play or retires, the club will seek compensation for breach of contract from his agent and former ‘owner’ Kia Joorabchian.The deal, which has three-and-a-half years to run, is estimated to amount to tens of millions of pounds.City made the decision not to sell Tevez after talks with club owner Sheikh Mansour.The club have already rejected a written transfer request from Tevez, who has reportedly cited family reasons as the motive behind his decision to leave.

The Scottish Premier League could face a difficult task winning approval for a new 10-team top flight, with at least two clubs known to be sceptical.

The changes may require a 10-2 majority and Rangers chief executive Martin Bain hopes that can be achieved.”I’m conscious of a review underway at SFL and SPL level,” said Bain.”If the strategy recommends what they believe to be the right way forward then it can be progressive and Scottish football can take a step forward.”BBC Scotland has polled all 12 SPL clubs on the potential for reconstruction and, out of those who have responded, two have clearly indicated that they are not in favour of a 10-team league.

Bain refused to be drawn further on the details of the proposals but said the review of Scottish football currently being guided by the former First Minister, Henry McLeish, should have an influence on any decisions taken.”The very fact that there’s two reviews running in tandem can only be positive,” said Bain.”It wouldn’t be appropriate for me to comment now prior to the other clubs receiving the opportunity to chat and discuss further some of the other aspects attached to it.”But Hearts manager Jim Jefferies believes a 10-team Scottish Premier League is not enough to provide adequate competition.The 12 SPL clubs will meet next Monday to consider a proposal for a 10-team top-tier and 10-club second division.
