The South Korean improvised superbly to direct Nani’s deflected cross over the reach of keeper Wojciech Szczesny.Wayne Rooney wasted a chance to double the lead when he blazed his penalty over after Gael Clichy had handled.Arsenal’s best efforts fell to Marouane Chamakh, who missed with a header and had a shot blocked by Nemanja Vidic.Gunners boss Arsene Wenger would have been disappointed by the paucity of chances created, although United counterpart Sir Alex Ferguson is unlikely to be eulogising about his side’s performance.

I will leave Manchester City, insists Carlos Tevez
Carlos Tevez has insisted he will leave Manchester City because his relations with “certain executives” at the club have “broken down beyond repair”.
City have rejected a written transfer request from the 26-year-old Argentina striker, who is reported to want to depart Eastlands for family reasons.He stressed that he has “no personal issue” with manager Roberto Mancini.But Tevez said: “It is something I have felt for some time and have spent many hours thinking this through.”In a statement, the Manchester City captain – who controversially joined from rivals Manchester United 17 months ago – thanked club owner Sheikh Mansour for his “understanding and support“.Tevez also revealed he first asked to leave this summer, and claimed he was dissuaded by long-time adviser Kia Joorabchian.City’s hierarchy have pointed the finger at Iranian businessman Joorabchian, describing his actions in relation to Tevez’s situation as “disappointing”.But the player himself stated: “I hugely resent suggestions that I have been unduly influenced by others. I wanted to leave in the summer, but was convinced to return. Sadly, my feelings have not changed.

In quel di Manchester sponda City non esiste settimana nella quale non nasca una polemica interna alla squadra e alla società. Anche oggi che i Citizen dovrebbero godersi in santa pace il primato in Premier League è scoppiata l’ennesima grana.Manco a dirlo è stato l’attaccante argentino Carlos Tevez ad aizzare l’ultima polemica con la dichiarazione molto forte e molto convinta di voler essere ceduto altrove. Tevez non si trova più bene al City e ha voglia di cambiare aria. Il rapporto non proprio idilliaco con il tecnico Mancini di certo non facilita tutta la questione.La società però ha risposto picche alla richiesta di Tevez, ma subito è arrivata la risposta dell’ex giocatore dello United. “Confermo, ho fatto richiesta al presidente del Manchester City Football Club per essere ceduto. Ora devo chiarire la mente e pensare, è una scelta importante della mia carriera”, ha voluto far sapere per iscritto Tevez.L’argentino conclude poi così: ”I miei sentimenti non sono cambiati, è un peccato essere arrivati a questo punto, ma è qualcosa che sento da tempo, qualcosa con alcuni dirigenti si è rotto, e ho speso già tanti giorni ed ore a pensare a questo”.

This year I’ve been slowly putting weight on, to the point where some of my regular jeans are getting a tad tight around the arse and thigh. It’s even spread to my neck, I tried a couple of shirts on and found it uncomfortable to do the top button up, not good that.I’ve decided to go on a pre-Xmas starvation diet, but recently I went cyber-hunting for loose and over-sized raw denim, just in case I fall back into bad habits. Seriously though, I was well into the ‘baggy’ look back in 88-90, shaking my big goofy strides to the funky drummer beat, so I really wanted a good pair of proper loose fit jeans, for old time’s sake.First (and usually last) stop for high quality jeanage is Japanese denim experts Edwin. I did a bit of research, asked a few bods in the know, searched online for photos, then stockists, and went for this pair of Edwin ‘Waynesville’. Taking time sussing out information on a hard-to-find item, from forums, the odd online phot, clothing junkie tips on blogs etc invariably pays off when you’re after clobber that isn’t available on the High Street. You need to have an idea of sizing and fit before you buy, as you can’t try the stuff on beforehand. So, when the postman dropped these Waynesvilles off a fortnight ago they were perfect. A quick jump into the shower with them on to flush out the excess indigo and on they went.I love the crisp, rough feeling of raw selvedge denim jeans, especially during their first few wears, you’re taming the material, giving it memory with every crease your body makes in them. These initial creases will stay with them forever, and with repeated wear the indigo will fade uniquely to your body shape – uniqueness, the paramount goal in this casual thing of ours.
