Iwelumo heads home for Burnley just before half time

Burnley’s quest for an immediate return to the Premier League got off to a good start with a win over fellow pre-season promotion favourites Nottingham Forest.

Chris Iwelumo’s diving header from Wade Elliott’s cross gave the home side the lead just before half-time.The goal was reward for Burnley edging the first half, during which Forest’s Rob Earnshaw also struck a post.Dexter Blackstock and Nathan Tyson squandered good second-half chances for Forest as Burnley held on for the win.
