Turno di coppa molto negativo per le formazioni inglesi in Champions’ League. Capitombolo interno per l’ Arsenal ad opera dello Shalke 04 mentre i “Blues” sono stati sconfitti in trasferta dallo Shakthar, formazione ucraina. Individuate ed arrestato, infine, il tifoso del Leeds che ha invaso il campo e colpito il portiere dello S. Wednesday durante la gara che opponeva le due formazioni.
AJAX-MAN CITY 3-1
Manchester City’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League knockout stage suffered another crushing blow with a deserved loss to Ajax in Amsterdam.
Both clubs were desperate for a victory to kick-start their Group F campaigns and Samir Nasri slotted City ahead against the run of play.
But Siem de Jong equalised with a low finish just before half-time and Niklas Moisander headed Ajax into the lead.
Christian Eriksen sealed the win with a strike deflected in by Gael Clichy.
It is a result that leaves City bottom of the table with one point from three games and three matches remaining.
They host Ajax on 6 November and Real Madrid on 21 November before finishing at Borussia Dortmund on 4 December.

Ajax v Manchester City: Fans clash before Amsterdam game
Twenty-five people have been arrested after fights in the red light area of Amsterdam ahead of a Champions League game between Ajax and Manchester City.
Amsterdam Police said trouble broke out at about 17:00 local time (16:00 BST), with arrests made for “public violence” offences.
The majority of those arrested are believed to be local. The number of Manchester City fans held is not known.
A police spokeswoman said: “We hope it will remain calm after the match.”
She said extra police had been deployed to the city centre, as the force had expected it “would be busy before and after the match”.
She added the area had become “calmer and more quiet” as fans had headed to the Amsterdam Arena for the game.

ARSENAL.SHALKE 0-2
Arsenal were handed their first defeat in the Champions League this season by Schalke’s Dutch pair of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Ibrahim Afellay.
Huntelaar, who had two other good chances, grabbed the first 15 minutes from time when he fired low past Gunners goalkeeper Vito Mannone.
And with four minutes remaining, Afellay made it 2-0 when he swept in Jefferson Farfan’s cross.
Arsenal’s best chance fell to lone forward Gervinho, who fired wide.

I campioni d’Europa in carica sono già sotto, e la reazione pare non esserci. Al 17′ brutta tegola per i blues, si infortunia infatti Lampard, sostituito da Di Matteo con Hazard. Il Chelsea riparte con una formazione votata all’attacco con Oscar, Ramires e il terribile belga. La partita si anima, e sono ora i due portieri i veri protagonisti del match. Sia Pyatov che lo stesso Cech mettono in campo tutta la loro bravura, salvando più volte il risultato per la rispettiva formazione. Nel secondo tempo il Chelsea non ci sta, e prova subito a mettere le cose a posto, ma sono ancora gli ucraini ad avere la meglio sui blues. Fernandinho, su assist di Willian, trova un tiro ad incrociare che porta il Donetsk sul 2 – 0. É ancora un brasiliano a siglare la sua firma in questa partita. Il tecnico italiano si gioca la carta Sturridge, dentro al posto di Torres. Nel finale gli inglesi trovano finalmente la rete grazie ad un altro brasiliano: Oscar. La sfida si conclude dunque sul punteggio di 2 – 1 per gli uomini di Lucescu. Vittoria che, complica, e non poco, la situazione dei bianconeri che nella sfida con i danesi trovano un altro pareggio. Lo Shakhtar vola invece in testa al girone E, diventando l’outsider più accreditata per il passaggio del turno, e sopratuttto, da prima del girone. Deludente il Chelsea in questa occasione, crea troppo poco e concede molto. Fra due settimane, nel fortino dello Stamford Bridge, gli oltremanica saranno attesi ad una prova importante, una prova che, in caso di vittoria, potrebbe inclinare ulteriolmente le chances della Juve in questa Champions League.

Leeds fan who ran onto pitch and assaulted Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland arrested
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland was hit by a fan during Friday night’s Championship game.
The incident was one of a number of ugly scenes at Hillsborough during the 1-1 draw with Leeds United, which was televised.
Gloucestershire Police said the man was arrested in Cheltenham shortly before 1pm.
A spokesman said: “The investigation is being led by South Yorkshire Police. The man currently remains in police custody.”
Kirkland, who has played for England, was shoved to the ground moments after conceding an equaliser in the 76th minute.
A hooligan ran from the Leeds fans onto the pitch and pushed Kirkland in the face, before running back into the crowd.
The incident was caught on camera by Sky Sports who were broadcasting the derby game, yet the suspect was not arrested until today.
Quickly the thug was identified on social media sites, with hundreds of fans joining in the condemnation. A mobile phone number was even posted, supposedly belonging to the suspect.
Wednesday manager Dave Jones – himself the subject of vile chants – urged Leeds fans to clean up their act.
Speaking on Five Live Sportsweek, he said: “It’s a football match and we’re looking at blaming police and stewards because they’re not there.
“He was a hero, he ran in the crowd, they were slapping him on the back so what do you do about that? It’s not one person.
“In this country we seem to end up going with the minority all the time and it’s going to take the majority to sort it out and you’ve got to police your own clubs.
“Do you know what needs to happen? The people that go to the games that are disgusted – and it’s going to be hard – they are the ones who should walk out and isolate the people there who are doing it or point out who are doing it.”
Leeds manager Neil Warnock said: “Every club has got these fans and for me it’s got to start at the very top now.
“We know the lad who assaulted him and he’s got to go through the courts and they’ve got to make it detrimental.
“It’s all right saying ‘go in and get them out’, but you’ve got to be there. It’s frightening for stewards – I wouldn’t want to be a steward.
“There shouldn’t be any way whatsoever that people should be allowed to run on the field of play.
“Dave said he could have had a weapon and the other good point Dave made at the time was what happened if he (Kirkland) hadn’t have got up?
“He’d made his three subs, what would have happened then? There would have been an absolute riot.”
Jones , who was cleared of child abuse allegations in 2000, was disgusted by some of the chants directed his way, adding: “I heard a guy on the radio say I get well paid and it’s football banter.
“That’s not football banter, I’ve had that for 12 years off them (football fans).”
The Football Association said it will investigate events.
There were five arrests for various offences including public order before and after the game, while three people were ejected from the ground and 12 were subject to dispersal orders.
