Darren Bent and Micah Richards have been ruled out of England’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Wales on Tuesday because of injuries.

Bent had missed Friday’s win over Bulgaria with a groin problem, while Richards has a hamstring injury.

Wales boss Gary Speed has central defender James Collins available after serving a suspension.

But Craig Bellamy and David Vaughan miss out after picking up yellow cards in Friday’s win over Montenegro.

Wales’ Sam Ricketts remains sidelined as the Bolton defender continues his recovery from Achilles surgery while Blackpool full-back Neal Eardley is out with broken fingers.

England beat Bulgaria 3-0 in Sofia on Friday to move into the outright lead of Euro 2012 qualifying Group G but Wales remain bottom despite their 2-1 triumph over Montenegro in Cardiff.

Fabio Capello’s England will be on the verge of 2012 European Championships qualification if they defeat Wales in the Group G match at Wembley.

England are three points ahead of second-place Montenegro, who they visit in October, and have two games left.

Despite the injuries to Bent and Richards, Capello has decided against calling up any replacements so close to Tuesday’s match and both players have returned to their clubs for treatment on their injuries.

Speed’s Wales, who claimed their first points of the Euro 2012 qualifiers on Friday, are 113 places below fourth-placed England in the world rankings and have only won once at Wembley – a 1-0 Home Nations win in 1977.

But Wales travel to Wembley for the first time since February 1983 having lost just twice to England in their last eight visits to London.

Wales hope West Ham United midfielder Jack Collison will recover from a stomach bug to make his first competitive international appearance against England and confirm his commitment to Wales.

The 22-year-old has already won nine caps since his debut in Iceland in May 2008 but all have been friendlies.

Watford-born Collison can represent England but qualifies for Wales because his grandfather was born near Caerphilly and he will be tied to Wales if he plays on Tuesday.

He has won numerous call-ups for competitive Welsh internationals but has been forced to withdraw due to knee injuries and personal reasons.

As Collison has not appeared for Wales in an official competitive match, he is still eligible to switch allegiances under Fifa rules.

But he has repeatedly stated that he is fully committed to Wales and against England on Tuesday, Collison could become a fully-fledged Wales player.

Wales had lost their opening four qualifiers, their worst start to a campaign since the 1970 World Cup qualifiers.
