A vast majority of the Blues’ supporters are expected to travel to the game by train for the 1.15pm kick-off.Three trains will be running from Suffolk to Norwich between 9.40am and 10.50am.Inspector Bob Munn, who is overseeing the British Transport Police operation, said: “We are expecting as many as 90 per cent of Ipswich fans to travel by train and are working very closely with Suffolk Police and Norfolk Police in a three-force operation.“Officers will not tolerate intimidating behaviour by groups of supporters or those who are out to spoil the day for others.“Train carriages are confined spaces. It can be a very intimidating experience for families and children when they find themselves in a carriage packed with boisterous fans.“My officers have been briefed to intervene with any such group. If it is just over-exuberance they will give them a warning.“However, if supporters are involved in insulting chanting, violent threats, or things of that nature they can expect their day to be ruined, as well as next season and the season after, as football banning orders will be sought in those cases.“Too often we have seen issues on board services on match days where alcohol has been a major cause for poor behaviour. This will not be tolerated on Sunday.”In addition to BTP officers, Suffolk police will also be on the trains.Insp Munn said all legislation at the disposal of officers will be used if there are problems.One of the tactics will be to issue a Section 27 notice to any offender. These notices direct a person to leave a designated area.This means any fan issued with a Section 27 notice will miss the East Anglian derby.

Eleven of 20 Scottish fixtures will go ahead this weekend despite the planned strike by category one referees.

Referees refused to back down despite they and the Scottish Football Association describing talks held this week as “positive and constructive”.The SFA says it had promised a clampdown on players and club officials who abuse referees and assistants.But it has recruited foreign referees for all games apart from nine in Divisions One, Two and Three.It means that the full Scottish Premier League card of six games, one in Division One (which was selected by drawing lots), three Scottish Cup replays and the ALBA Challenge Cup final have survived, weather permitting.Dutch referees had followed those in Iceland and Norway in rejecting the SFA’s approach to take charge of weekend matches, with Irish, Welsh, Estonian and Swedish officials having indicated that they too would be unwilling to provide cover.
