La difficile situazione di classifica del Liverpool continua a fare discutere anche per quanto concerne la guida tecnica dello spagnolo Rafa Benitez la cui panchina pare vacillare. In sua difesa si è esposto Fernando Torres; l’attaccante dei “Reds”, legato al club da un contratto a lungo termine analogo a quello del mister, ha addossato le responsabilità principali a carico della squadra. Come anticipato ieri, l’annuale “report” delle autorità inglesi preposte all’ ordine pubblico ha evidenziato un dato di 3752 arresti ( meno 2% rispetto al rapporto 2008 ) negli stadi di Inghilterra e Galles nel corso degli ultimi dodici mesi, a fronte della presenza sugli spalti di circa 37 milioni di spettatori. Liverpool striker Fernando Torres says sacking manager Rafael Benitez will not solve the club’s current ills.
Out of the Champions League and off the pace in the race to qualify for next season’s tournament, the Reds have won just three times in 12 games.“I think sacking the manager is not a solution,” said Torres, who thinks the players are to blame more than Benitez.”We have to play much better. The players are the people that have to find a solution to the situation.”Last season both Torres and Benitez signed long-term contracts, keeping them at the club until 2014.
