Blackburn have revealed that at least two of their players have swine flu.

“Two cases of swine flu are confirmed and other members of the squad and staff have complained of virus-like symptoms,” said a club spokesman.Manager Sam Allardyce told the club’s official website: “David Dunn and Chris Samba have a virus.”Reports had suggested Rovers would seek to postpone Tuesday’s Carling Cup tie at home to Peterborough, but the game is set to go ahead as planned.Dunn and Samba were missing from Blackburn’s squad for their 5-0 defeat at Chelsea on Saturday, and will not be fit for the Peterborough clash. It has not been confirmed if they are the two who have been diagnosed with swine flu.“A couple of the other lads who were playing against Chelsea have that virus or we think they are coming down with it,” said Allardyce.

We will hopefully get them back next week when we have to go to Old Trafford.”But it is one of those viruses that can see you out for up to six days so we’ll have to see.”Blackburn would have needed to apply for special dispensation from the Football League to postpone the tie against Peterborough, but are happy to play the match.Rovers club secretary Andrew Pincher said: “There has been speculation in the national media following confirmation of sickness within the camp, but we can reassure all supporters that the tie will go ahead as planned.”
