Liverpool batte Everton dieci a tre.

Tottenham star Ledley King racially abused and hit me, claims victim

“This is the moment legless Ledley King is hauled away in shame by police after being arrested over a race attack on a bouncer. The England ace – his shirt ripped open  – was also filmed minutes earlier being restrained by doormen after he exploded in boozy violence.King, 28, was booted out of one club an hour beforehand for being drunk. He then allegedly punched doorman Wahib Butt in the face and called him a “P**i b*****d” after he was refused entry to a second London club, Punk.

Wahib, 22, told of his shock at seeing Spurs skipper – so drunk he could barely stand or speak – urinate in the street and shove a policewoman.King is said to have bragged about his £80,000-a-week wages and ridiculed England ace Steven Gerrard as “fat” when he learnt Wahib was a fan of the midfielder’s club Liverpool. The bouncer said: “He was saying, ‘Don’t you know who I am? ‘I’m on £80,000 a week and you’re on £10 an hour.’“I asked him to leave but he swung at me as I turned and hit me on the left side of the mouth. He’s meant to be a role model as an England player.“But his behaviour was appalling and I’ll be devastated if he isn’t prosecuted.”Reveller Maria Uchi, 26, who was taking photos, said: “He was drunk, insulting and aggressive to the bouncers.“At one point I bumped into him. He turned around aggressively but saw I was a girl. I thought I was going to get hit until he saw who I was. I saw him take a  swing at one bouncer but he was bundled over and police came.”King spent nearly eight hours at a police station as he was quizzed on suspicion of racially aggravated assault and bailed. The defender had been on a bender in London’s Soho with team-mate Jermain Defoe and other pals hours after Spurs’ 0-0 draw at Everton.King staggered up to Punk at around 2am yesterday after he alone was kicked out of another club, Maya, for being drunk.  When Wahib twice refused him entry he grew abusive and boasted about being a star. The bouncer said: “I didn’t recognise him and said, ‘I don’t give a damn, you’re not coming in’.When the doorman revealed he was a Liverpool fan, King is said to have  sneered: “Oh, you support fat Gerrard.”Wahib said: “ I couldn’t believe he was insulting his own England team-mate.But I still wouldn’t change my mind and he wandered off, opened his zip and peed in the street in front of everyone.”By the time King returned for a third time, head bouncer Trevor Allingham had arrived. Wahid added: “I think someone called the police. A girl who works for the club came out with a camera as things were getting nastier.“Then he got angrier and called me a ‘fat c***’ and a ‘P*** b*****d’.“When my head doorman got involved,  King said, ‘You baldy t**t’ and said ‘You’re white, that’s why you’re being racist to me by not letting me in’.”King allegedly lashed out as Wahib again asked him to leave. The bouncer added: “I wasn’t expecting to be hit and I hadn’t got any defence ready, so he caught me really hard.” Fellow doormen restrained the star before police arrived.Wahib added: “I saw him pushing a woman officer in the back of the van.And the officer who took my statement told me he was lashing out at others in the van.”Trevor, 35, who put King in a headlock, said: “It was absolutely disgusting the way he behaved. He was so drunk he couldn’t stand or speak. It doesn’t matter what colour you are, if you are too inebriated you’re not coming in.”Wahib yesterday went to hospital complaining of headaches, dizziness and loose teeth. But King’s lawyer Graham Shear insisted: “From the accounts I’ve heard, it sounds like it has been blown out of all proportion by the alleged victim.”Spurs said they were “aware of an incident involving Ledley King” but added: “It would be inappropriate to make any further comment at this time.”King is no stranger to nightclub problems. In the space of one month last year he was thrown out of London’s Funky Buddha and Faces in Essex for being boozy. Last night police confirmed he was being probed “on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault”.

Weak at both ends and stodgy in the middle, Newcastle United and Middlesbrough have lacked decent spines this season, not to mention strikers as incisive as Alan Shearer and centre-halves as assured as Gareth Southgate. That pair may one day develop into top managers but right now their respective sides could do with the former England team-mates turning back time and stepping on to the pitch rather than occupying adjacent technical areas at St James’ Park. One of their mutual problems is a suspicion that both the Newcastle manager and his Middlesbrough counterpart are more worried by the growing spectre of relegation than many of their players.”
