Cinque tifosi dei Glasgow Rangers compariranno davanti alla corte il prossimo 10 agosto in relazione alle violenze commesse a Manchester in occasione della finale di Coppa Uefa dello scorso anno disputata contro lo Zenit di San Pietroburgo. Nella città inglese giunsero circa 150mila tifosi dei “Blues” che accoltellarono un tifoso russo, compirono diversi danneggiamenti nelle vie del centro e misero, in alcuni frangenti, la polizia in disordinata fuga, con il conseguente ferimento di alcuni agenti. La “Greater Manchester Police” pubblicò nei mesi scorsi 49 fotografie di presunti responsabili. Intanto Pisa, ancora rattristata per la recente retrocessione della squadra locale nella terza serie, attende l’arrivo dei fans dell’ Irlanda del Nord. Dopo gli arresti di diversi ultras locali, in merito ai disordini seguiti al fischio finale, la Curva Nord nerazzura ha espresso dissenso per la disputa del match all’ “Arena Garibaldi”, sede confermata dopo un comitato per l’ ordine pubblico che ha preannunciato una forte militarizzazione dell’ impianto e delle aree adiacenti. Le tifoserie del Linfield,del Glentoran, del Cliftonville e del Portadown sono, comunque, piuttosto vivaci ed hanno dato vita a diversi scontri, tanto da fare sì che la Repubblica del Nord Irlanda fosse definita, con timore, dalle autorità locali ,come possibile “paradiso per gli hooligans”, in quanto priva di una vera e propria legislazione “ad hoc”. Gli investigatori, visto l’esponenziale aumento degli scontri a margine delle partite di calcio nelle “Sei Contee” della Repubblica sospettano che le milizie paramilitari stiano individuando nelle partite di football nuovi terreni di confronto.Solo una decina di giorni fa una persona che indossava la maglietta dei Glasgow Celtic è stato assassinata nel corso di un assalto compiuto da persone che, almeno apparentemente, festeggiavano il 52esimo titolo nazionale vinto dai Rangers. Finiti i campionati, impazza nuovamente il calciomercato: per 12 milioni di sterline il solito Man City ha acquistato Barry dall’ Aston Villa mentre il Chelsea sarebbe arrivato ad offrire 70milioni di pounds per Kakà ma il brasiliano viene dato dalla stampa spagnola come destinato ad indossare la maglietta del Real Madrid. In Scozia, invece, tiene banco la successione sulla panchina del Celtic a Gordon Strachan; diversi i nomi che sono stati accostati, quasi tutti provenienti dalla cadetteria del campionato britannico.

“Five men have been formally charged by police investigating the serious disorder that marred last year’s Uefa Cup final in Manchester.

Police said three of the men were from the west of Scotland, with the others from Manchester and Lancashire.An estimated 150,000 Rangers fans travelled to Manchester for the Glasgow club’s match with Zenit St Petersburg at the City of Manchester Stadium.The five men are due to appear in court on 10 August.They were named as Gordon Forrest, 44, from Bearsden; James Bell, 42, from Cumbernauld; Thomas Murphy, 27, of Greenock; David McCullough, 21, from the Burnage area of Manchester; and David Annette, 34, from Chorley.The men were all charged with violent disorder.

Two youths from Glasgow, aged 16 and 17, are due to answer bail on Wednesday, Greater Manchester Police said.A further two men from the Lanarkshire area, both aged 21, and a 25-year-old man from Glasgow, are due to answer bail on 14 July, while a 30-year-old Glasgow man is due to answer bail on 15 July.Violence broke out in Manchester after a screen in a fan zone broke before kick-off. Rangers lost the match 2-0.Police had previously released CCTV pictures of 49 people they believed were involved in the riots, which saw officers and supporters hurt and property damaged”

Italia-Irlanda del Nord a Pisa, ma stadio sarà blindato

 

“La Nazionale giocherà regolarmente a Pisa sabato prossimo l’amichevole in programma contro l’Irlanda del Nord, ma la zona dello stadio sarà letteralmente blindata e sorvegliata da centinaia tra poliziotti e carabinieri. Nessuno spostamento di sede dell’ultima ora, quindi, dopo i violenti scontri verificatisi nel dopo gara di Pisa-Brescia tra gli ultrà nerazzurri e le forze dell’ordine e soprattutto dopo il no agli azzurri messo nero su bianco in un comunicato dalla curva pisana. E’ la determinazione assunta oggi dal comitato provinciale per l’ordine pubblico. L’evento, è stato sottolineato nel corso della riunione, è soprattutto una vittoria per la città di Pisa e l’orientamento di istituzioni e forze dell’ordine è quello di garantire il regolare svolgimento del match. Il clima che doveva essere di festa, tuttavia, rischia di essere turbato dalla rabbia degli ultrà pisani per la retrocessione della propria in squadra maturata nell’ultima giornata di campionato, ma per tutta la settimana saranno svolti controlli per tenere sotto stretto controllo gli umori del tifo più caldo in modo da scongiurare l’effetto sorpresa in caso di contestazioni violente. Ad esaltare qualche ‘testa calda’ potrebbe anche contribuire il fatto che l’Irlanda del Nord ha la croce celtica come stemma sulla maglia. Manchester City have completed the signing of England midfielder Gareth Barry from Aston Villa for £12m.
